No Begging at the table with Tom Cummins
Four Legged Festivities
Tom Cummins and many of the team members here at American Power and Gas have fur babies that we adore. During the holidays we hold all of our loved ones very close to us, but what about our pets? We go through so much trouble to cook quality food and spend quality time. But our little companions that are ALWAYS there seem to get the short end of the vacation. The situation is giving animals people food can be dangerous to their health. Well we are good at finding solutions and helping them reach the public so keep reading because we found some great ideas!
Tom Cummins’ Favorite Recipes For Dogs
While all your friends and families are sharing finger food, you can give the pup a taste of the fun. Just put some peanut butter on celery, carrots, and apples, arrange the goodies on a plate and “poof” doggy hors d’oeuvres. Healthy delicious treat for dogs. Another recipe is more like a main course, with sweet potato and turkey in a bowl. You furry little guy or girl will be very please to be a part of this feast!
Recipes for Cats and Dogs
Some more simple treats are pumpkin and yogurt. Stick some pumpkin and yogurt in a blender, once its all mixed, serve some to your dog and/or cat and you won’t have to feel an ounce of guilt while you eat your pumpkin pie with whipped cream! Want you pet to chill out form all the begging? How about some flavored ice cubes? Take some fruit and put it in ice trays with water (for Dogs) OR put some meat broth in ice trays (for cats). Turkey medallions anyone? Something for your pets to share: 6 oz. of turkey, 1/2 cup carrots and 1/2 oatmeal or quinoa. Blend all the ingredients together in a food processor, roll into pet friendly size balls and bake for about 15 minutes.
Warm and Fuzzy
We found a ton of solutions to this situation of doggy and kitty friendly Thanksgiving, or Christmas. Make sure you are safe during the holidays not just with the people you love but with the loyal pets that stick by us every day. No Bones for the doggies or kitties! Don’t overfeed the animals, even with the suggested meals posted above, and stay active with your pet so that neither of you get too lazy during this chilly and relaxing holiday season! Stay tuned for more great ideas, and info that Tom Cummins has to share.
