American Power and Gas Plays Strong Every Day

Yesterday at American Power and Gas we focused on Astrological sciences. Today we will take a glance at some inspiring cultural History. History.com reports, “On this day” August 22, in 1950, the first African American was accepted into the national tennis competition. Althea Gibson, was an African American woman the age of 23. United States Lawn Tennis Association (USLTA) accepted her for the competition held in Forest Hills New York (history.com 2017). Althea was 14 years old when she began to play tennis, and by 23 years old she was making it in the big leagues, she set records and made huge imprints in the history of sports. Althea Gibson was a very talented and skilled player who worked very hard to get into the USLTA.

Inspiration

This is an inspiring story to begin the week with. Everyone has the opportunity to better themselves with the right drive and motivation. This is why American Power and Gas holds, meetings regularly, we do group events, we help the community.
