Effective pauses support and emphasize the point you are trying to get across. Professional speakers use pause tactics to keep their audience engaged. Studies show that we only remember 25- 50% of what we hear. Therefor, in order to be a better problem solver, become a better negotiator, or even a better adviser… being an active listener is key.
