Tom Cummins Solar Energy

CEO Tom Cummins and everyone at American Power and Gas have been waiting for some new data. We have found some new data on solar power. In order to function during the year 2040 the world will need to produce about 25% more energy then produce we do now.  The environment has already taken a beating from our continuous abuse, and use of non-renewable sources. Scientist are creating new innovations of, more and more effective solar panels. The effective panels are valuable, but we need to make our renewable usage longer lasting and create a more consistent reliance on renewable energy. In order to improve, evaluate the current status and abilities of generating, and using solar energy. Including honestly analyzing the amount of energy that is being used in comparison to energy being lost. So far, it seems the problem lies primarily with the energy available compared to energy used.

Renewable Energy

Tom Cummins is very familiar with the term renewable Energy. Let’s think about that word for a minute- Renewable it means to be recyclable, regenerate, regain, or use again. Renewable means the energy is inexhaustible. You may think of renewable as unlimited as well. This is where the facts get tricky. When the sun is shining we can use it’s heat and light/reflection to heat and to generate as much power as we want. When the sun goes down, and all access to that source is cut off, there is no way to get power.So the question that lies, is solar energy unlimited in one area/ time zone at all times? The answer is no, solar is not unlimited at all times. However, new technology removes the limits of time and captures the sun’s energy so the energy is stored and used when the sun has set.

Storing Solar Energy

Scientific studies are cracking the fundamental problem of  storing solar energy. PEC Cells (photoelectric cells) that are used to gather the sun’s power are a tool, to reduce the limitations of time. Previous  PEC Cells were an imperfect solution because the energy cells are not able to store for a lengthy period of time.  As Scientists have enhanced, a more advanced method of storing energy has developed. A “specially designed photo electrode” (the component that converts incoming photons into electrons). “Unlike previous designs, the cells’ hybrid tungsten trioxide/titanium dioxide (WO3/TiO2) photo-electrode(Borghino,2015). This hybrid cell can store electrons securely, and for long periods of time which reduces limits of solar. This simply means that the current hybrid tungsten cells store solar energy for longer periods. New solar technology methods are more effective and the storage of energy is longer lasting. Research continues to improve the abilities of cells and batteries.
