Our New Green Trees Campaign

American Power and Gas has offered alternative fuel options for homes and businesses throughout the eastern United States for the past 15 years. In order to better serve our clients and protect our planet, we’ve dedicated ourselves to providing 100 percent sustainable power. We’ve proven our commitment to environmental friendliness by finding renewable fuel sources, creating The Green Effect initiative to raise awareness, and taking our corporate responsibility seriously.

At American Power and Gas, we want to use our success to help tackle the most important issues facing our local, national, and even global communities. We know our clients share in this perspective, so we’re always looking for ways we can work together to achieve our goals. To that end, we’re excited to announce our new Green Trees Campaign, a program that will allow you to directly participate in preserving and improving Earth’s environment. What is Treecycler?

Unfortunately, there are numerous environmental issues to address in our modern world. We help reduce our clients’ carbon footprints and fossil fuel consumption by providing more ecologically conscious energy, but we want to do even more. As you may know, deforestation is a major problem. Across the globe, people chop down trees for wood, paper production, and other purposes at an alarming and excessive rate. Destroying these important (and in some cases, ancient) plants interferes with the natural processes that allow living beings on Earth (humans included!) to enjoy fertile soil, clean air, and plentiful water.

Treecycler is a revolutionary “reforestation” program that collaborates with companies and their clients to plant new trees, offsetting the damage done by deforestation. Basically, businesses that partner with Treecycler send special codes to their customers, who can then redeem these to plant trees around the globe. This straightforward, accessible system makes fighting the effects of deforestation easy and even enjoyable.

Our Green Trees Campaign

American Power and Gas is proud to have expanded our environmental efforts with Treecycler. Clients that participate in our Green Trees Campaign will periodically receive this organization’s customized codes via email or on a recycled cardstock paper mailing. Each code translates to a tree purchased and planted through one of Treecycler’s carefully selected non-profit organizations, mobilized around the world. American Power and Gas clients that participate will receive five codes within the first three months, another five after six months, and an additional eight about a year after you sign up. This means that every one of our conscientious customers could be responsible for planting up to eighteen new trees in the next year. Imagine what an impact that could make!

How You Can Do Your Part

Our Green Trees Campaign can’t succeed without our clients’ support. If you want to be involved, all you need to do is enroll in this program. Every time you receive a code, simply register it with Treecycler within 60 days. Once you enter this key, it’s up to you—you’ll get to handpick where you’d like your tree to be planted. You can choose from dozens of local reforestation projects. You can sort these based on location (Treecycler is active on five continents, including Australia, South America, North America, Asia, and Africa), read through their descriptions to make a decision, or search for your favorite. You could choose the same project every time or scatter your seedlings throughout the world.

Once you’ve entered your code and confirmed which project you’d like to contribute to, Treecycler and American Power and Gas will take care of the rest. Your only task will be to wait for your next code, at which point you’ll complete this process again.
